In 2002, we fell in love with Alaska and purchased property near Fairbanks. Our Alaska log home was built in 2003 by Bill Kisken of Log Weavers here in Fairbanks. Bill is an artist, who uses the hand scribed Swedish cope system. Notice how tightly the logs fit at the ends, this is very diffucult to achieve. We retired in 2013, and moved our residence to Alaska.

Tug Hill Tourathon 2005

The Tug Hill Tourathon is a 50 kilometer classic ski marathon held on the first Saturday of February every year. It is a wonderful family event. The entire community of Sandy Creek, New York, comes out to support the racers. The Tug Hill Plateau north of Syracuse gets lake effect snow off of Lake Ontario, and we have seen awsome amounts of snow fall during a race. We have participated every year since 1985.

In the photos, Cathy greets race official Margaret Clerkin and we gather at the finish line at the end of the race.
