In 2002, we fell in love with Alaska and purchased property near Fairbanks. Our Alaska log home was built in 2003 by Bill Kisken of Log Weavers here in Fairbanks. Bill is an artist, who uses the hand scribed Swedish cope system. Notice how tightly the logs fit at the ends, this is very diffucult to achieve. We retired in 2013, and moved our residence to Alaska.

Nordic Walking (Part 2)

Yesterday I was out on an easy trail run on the Appalachian Trail.  Ran from the Elk Pen to the hill past the Lemon Squeezer and back.  I wasn't pushing too hard, but on a medium uphill grade I was passed by a guy who was nordic walking.  He had an excellent form, using the long stride demonstrated in the video (below) that I posted last week. It was great to watch someone using proper form.  I learned a lot.  Now that I know what proper form looks like, I intend to incorporate nordic walking into my cross training.
