In 2002, we fell in love with Alaska and purchased property near Fairbanks. Our Alaska log home was built in 2003 by Bill Kisken of Log Weavers here in Fairbanks. Bill is an artist, who uses the hand scribed Swedish cope system. Notice how tightly the logs fit at the ends, this is very diffucult to achieve. We retired in 2013, and moved our residence to Alaska.

Great Birkebeiner
This year's Birkebeiner turned out to be another great one. Good snow, excellent trails. The great Norwegian champion Bjorn Dahle participated, but I was too far back in the pack to see him. I finished the 55 kilometer classical trail in 6:45. Respectable for me on my wood Landsem skis. The wax I put on my skis cost more than the eBay bid I purchased the skis with. Still I passed a lot of people from waves ahead of me. Photos below are wave 5 starting and me at the finish.
