In 2002, we fell in love with Alaska and purchased property near Fairbanks. Our Alaska log home was built in 2003 by Bill Kisken of Log Weavers here in Fairbanks. Bill is an artist, who uses the hand scribed Swedish cope system. Notice how tightly the logs fit at the ends, this is very diffucult to achieve. We retired in 2013, and moved our residence to Alaska.

Another Beautiful Alaska Christmas

Christmas day was beautiful here with the temperature hovering around -5 degrees F.

The sun rises around 11 a.m. and sets around 2 p.m.  Above is the afternoon sunset from our
back cabin.

We had a wonderful couple of days of skiing, then a huge arctic air mass moved in and the temperature plunged to -45 F. in some low lying areas.  Our truck quit in the cold and we have spent the past couple of days trying to get it fixed.  Too cold to ski.  Now we are learning about cabin fever Alaska style.
