In 2002, we fell in love with Alaska and purchased property near Fairbanks. Our Alaska log home was built in 2003 by Bill Kisken of Log Weavers here in Fairbanks. Bill is an artist, who uses the hand scribed Swedish cope system. Notice how tightly the logs fit at the ends, this is very diffucult to achieve. We retired in 2013, and moved our residence to Alaska.

The Cognitive Age
David Brooks in a NY Times editorial speaks of "The Cognitive Age" at the successor or alternative view of globalization. The fact that technological change is what drives the world, not globalization, is an interesting concept and one that again falls in line with Janes Burke's connections theory. Each new invention is a trigger that sets in motion a serief changes in the world. The ability to recognize that becomes the cognitive age.
